Ms. Scott's Teaching Philosophy
Art is a creative form of communication that can be used to inspire, empower, and educate others. Whether it is painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics etc., art has the ability to explore the past, capture the present, and shape the future. As an art educator, I am dedicated to creating a classroom community that promotes safety, positivity, and critical thinking. It is important to acknowledge the range of artwork from prehistoric to contemporary as well as many underrepresented artists from various cultures and backgrounds. Art is a therapeutic approach for students to express themselves and their perspective on the world today, and prepare them to be the voices of tomorrow.
